Additionally, this means governments with enatic succession is much better suited in the creation of a "super bloodline", as they should be marrying matrilinealy anyway. In contrast, agnatic governments will never be able to have a super bloodline in power forever, not without inbreeding.
The following table provides examples of each of these situations:
GetFirstNameWithNick]。
- Ragnarr 'Lodbrok' will gain his nickname and bloodline between 780 and 795.
- If Árpád succeeds in his Magyar Conquest of Hungary against Bulgaria he’ll found his bloodline.
- If William succeeds in his invasion of England he’ll found his bloodline.
- Sabuktigin, Seljuk and Timur will be created with their bloodline when corresponding Turkic Conqueror events fire.
- Temüjin will gain, or be created with his bloodline when Mongol Invasion fires.
- Become Genghis Khan decision which historically done by Temüjin Borjigin will give the character Genghis Khan bloodline.

Sainthood
These bloodlines are created posthumously when a character achieves sainthood or a reformed (with the Ancestor Veneration doctrine) pagan religion's equivalent.[1]
Like the Warrior Lodge Bloodlines, the ancestor's bloodline is selected from amidst those eligible when the canonization (or the pagan ancestor worship event equivalent) occurs (Event HF.40020 / HF.40101 repectively).
Christian saints, upon canonization, will be give a province in their demesne (priority to the capital, then capital neighbouring provinces, and finally to demesne provinces more generally) the Tomb of the Saint modifier. They can then be used as a site of pilgrimage and on being looted can provide saintly artifacts.
Most bloodlines will end up being referred to as Blood of [Character Name].

Wicked Saintly Bloodlines
A similar "Saintly" bloodline exists for impious Christian saints, usually when there is a wicked Pope. It is earned through a similar beatification event chain as the traditional saintly events, but it looks for impious traits instead.

All bloodlines that are not historical nor saintly bloodlines are flagged as created bloodlines. They can be formed through various events and are inherited the same way as historical bloodlines.
Many foundable bloodlines in game files have both a Patrilineal and Matrilineal variants. If founded on a male character, then it will be Patrilineal, if on a female character, Matrilineal. These (pairs of bloodlines, technically) are listed below as "Depending on Founder Gender".
These bloodlines are earned through the Forge Bloodline ambition, available to duke+ rulers with with very high prestige.
By picking this ambition you will be provided with several paths to create your own custom Bloodline, tailoring it to whichever kind of ruler you wish to be remembered as. Each path will lead you to unlock a different bloodline, each coming in different variants. Additionally, if you pursue more than a single path at the same time, you have a chance of unlocking a hybridized Bloodline, with its own unique perks. The tasks provided by the ambition are as follows.
- Murder or execute 30 people (regular duels and battlefield duels seem to count as well)
- Win 15 foreign wars
- Rule at peace for 30 years while the ambition is active
- Build 10 castles
- Build 10 cities
- Build 10 temples
If you take too long to complete any of the initial paths, and were at least king tier when starting the ambition, you will eventually get an opportunity to invest resources and select from an additional pool of potential bloodlines.
Whether a created bloodline will be patrilineal or matrilineal depends on whether the founder is male or female. Warning: if you earn any created bloodline after starting this ambition, you will not be able to forge a new bloodline.
Murder bloodlines
There are five possible bloodlines from pure murder. Forging one will grant an appropriate nick name like "the Dragon" or "the Little Nightmare" based on which bloodline is acquired, assuming you don't have one. Also, forging the Dragon King bloodline adds , forging the Silent Killer bloodline adds
and forging any of the others adds

Like in historical timelines, when an Alternate Start campaign is generated, certain characters start with bloodlines. On generation, it is possible for different characters to have the "same" type of bloodline (the same bonuses), although they will differ in name.

Finding characters with bloodlines
In the "Bloodlines" page of the Ledger:
- To see a quick summary of bloodline effects: hover the entry
- To see a list of living descendants: click an entry to view its founder, then click the bloodline icon (on their character page), then click the bloodline icon (on the bloodline itself).
- ↑ The Saintly Bloodlines in game files describe variants of the Saintly bloodlines for specific pagan religions, but seem to be not earnable (
Event HF.40000
) by pagans in the normal course of the game. See /Crusader Kings II/common/events/HF_sainthood_events.txt, /Crusader Kings II/common/events/HF_ancestor_worship_events.txt, and /Crusader Kings II/common/bloodlines/01_saintly_bloodlines.txt.
