事件部队（英文：Event troops）是特殊的，无补充的部队,它并不受到像征召兵、雇佣兵或近卫军那样的普通限制。他们作为特定战争中的事件结果而被创立，而且也会出现在某些历史开局的人物的麾下。每一种事件部队都有一个介于0和1之间的“维护费乘数”。大多数事件部队比征召兵耗费的维护费要少，而且很多是免费的。有些会在战争结束或其他情境之下自动解散。

以下是几种类别：

  • 叛军与效忠者 可能随机出现在派系战争中的附庸或领主一方，他们更可能加入人数较少的一方，而且更少可能加入人类玩家控制的角色一方。他们在战争结束的时候消失。
  • 无地入侵者：所有涉及无地角色入侵一个区域的战争（农民、异端、宗教、民族主义叛军；冒险家；腐化入侵；什叶派哈里发崛起）给予进攻者一大批事件部队军团。除了腐化入侵之外，这些军队在胜利时依然存在。
  • 游牧部族例如蒙古帝国获得巨量无损耗的军团("doomstacks")。而且蒙古人会定期获得增援。
  • 部落统治者会从部落内阁任务和（Dlc icon legacy of rome.png 罗马遗产未激活时）部落单位决议得到事件部队。
  • 准备入侵 部队
  • 次级部族叛乱会产生大量事件部队（取决于目标可汗领土规模）。如果次级部族在叛乱中成功，事件部队不会解散，而且会一直被新汗王所掌控。

有事件部队的角色列表

在某些历史开局中，角色拥有他们预先召集但是会比正常数量多几倍的征召兵。特别地，1066年诺曼征服的全部三个参与者都拥有预先召集的征召兵。既然这些事件部队都算作征召兵，角色就不能在没有解散他们的情况下宣战。

可用士兵的数量受角色的征召兵乘数限制。因为角色的征召兵会随着他和他附庸随机产生的特质而变化，所以事件部队的数量也会在不同的新游戏中发生显著变化。

其他一些角色在开局时获得永存的士兵（在某些情况下是船只）。这些似乎比上述的要少，但是他们会一直存在直到在战争中消耗殆尽。
