Hospitals are special holdings, exclusive to DLC icon Reaper's Due.png The Reaper's Due DLC, which are used to increase disease resistance in a province, as well as decrease the chance of depopulation. They will also safeguard prosperity in a province by decreasing the chance of outbreaks of diseases to occur or spread to the province.

Hospitals can provide their owner with several other resources as well, such as piety, tech points, opinion modifiers, etc. Having a hospital in a province will also allow several hospital-related events to occur, such as allowing a Court Physician to improve their skills.

Building a hospital

Non-nomadic rulers can build a hospital in their controlled territory for a base cost of 100 wealth. Note: If a hospital is built in a vassal's territory, or if it finished building after you have given the county away, the hospital is still considered yours and will be stuck in your buildings list.

Alternatively, you can spend 300 piety and allow a holy order to build a castle in your capital in exchange for a hospital there. This is accessed by right-clicking a holy order captain and selecting "Invite to Build Hospital".
